Former Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau shared his memories of the Holocaust with the hundreds of rabbanim attending the conference, and he expressed how thrilled he was at seeing the rebirth of European Jewry, which is, in large part, thanks to the activities of the RCE. Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, the Rishon Letzion, spoke of his admiration for the RCE rabbis’ work with European Jewish youth, and for the construction and renovation of scores of mikvaos throughout Europe.
