The Rabbinical Centre of Europe, representing 700 rabbis acrossthe continent herby declare its concern with the wellbeing and safety of the people of Israelduring these difficult times, as they face tremendous dangers from murderous terrorism and genocides threats fromregimes abroad.

The people of Israel have a right to peace and security and should retain borders that will allow them to defend themselves from threatening enemies.

Those that call for pressure on Israelin this matter are in fact stabbing the Jewishstatein the back. Statements blaming Israel for the lack of peace in the Middle East provide ammunition to anti-Semites.

Initiativesagainst Israel on this issue act against the people of Israel’s existential rightsand indirectly legitimize Jewish bloodshed. Thisattacks were until now promoted by those who want to continually excuse Arabrefusal to continue direct peace talks. Unfortunately, we now witness some European Jews falling into this trap and propagandizing for the enemies of thePeopleof Israel.

Peace is a supreme value in the Jewish tradition, butsuch initiatives actuallymakepeace less obtainable by placing the blame and the demands on the wronged party and not where it should be.

With the rise of disgraceful anti-Semitism in Europe, we hope the signatoriesof such initiativeswill spend more time defending the Jewish People rather than attacking it.
