This week, a delegation of the RCE’s administration toured Jewish communities in Italy. Harav Avraham Yosef, Chief Rabbi of Holon and member of the Rabbinical Council of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate, participated in the tour. While the delegation was in Italy a great many halachic queries were solved.
A Jewish Medal Is Rewarded to a Muslim Who Initiated the “Human Ring of Peace” in Copenhagen5 Nisan 5775 25/03/2015
The European Jewish Association (EJA) awarded the medal to Niddal El-Jabri, who organized the human ring of peace that circled the main synagogue in Copenhagen, following the terror attack in which the Jewish security guard Dan Uzan was murdered.

Dozens of Rabbanim from all over Europe who were participating in the RCE’s Rabbinical Conference in Prague, Czechoslovakia, received training in responding to someone threatening them with a knife or firearms. The Rabbanim were also taught about the “Matzilah Chaim” (“Lifesaving”) cell phone application, which was made available to the public in the wake of the recent wave of terrorist attacks and anti-Semitic acts.

Belgium’s Minister for Animal Welfare Confirmed Today that He Will Not Ban Shechitah3 Tevet 5775 25/12/2014
After he had said that he would work to ban kosher shechitah in Belgium as early as 2015, Flemish Minister for Animal Welfare Ben Weyts responded to the petition of Harav Menachem Margolin, General Director of the Rabbinical Centre of Europe and of the European Jewish Association (EJA), and decided not to change the existing law that permits kosher shechitah in Belgium.
